Attractions in and around Manchester include hundreds of shops and departments stores, plenty of golf courses, more theatres than any city outside London, two premier League football teams, three Universities and two symphony orchestras.
When it comes to shopping, everything is within easy reach. Deansgate is a short walk from The Hacienda and offers a superb choice of department stores, specialist independents as well as pubs, clubs and the finest restaurants outside (and arguably inside) London. Dining is also a pleasure with the cosmopolitan city offering more than 30 styles of international cuisine.
The Metropolitan County of Greater Manchester has the most extensive motorway network in the UK and is only two and a half hours from London by intercity train. The city's Metrolink rail system is the most modern in Europe.
