Good Neighbours News – Having a ball with Imagine Homes

The Grant & Anthea Summer Ball – an annual fundraising event hosted by Grant Bovey and Anthea Turner - has this year raised £500,000 for charity.

For the fifth successive year, Imagine Homes, the fastest growing UK property investment company sponsored this impressive event for its two charities, DebRA and CHASE.

The ball was staged in the beautiful grounds of Grant and Anthea’s home and over 500 guests, including well known faces from stage and screen, enjoyed a glittering array of first class entertainment and a lavish meal.

Master of ceremonies Bobby Davro kept guests amused while they bid for a range of exclusive prizes from a two-week holiday at Bryan Adam’s villa in Mustique to 5 top of the range BMW Mini Coopers.

An all-star line up of entertainment included the inimitable Ray Quinn and Chico from the X-Factor, opera star Keedie and performances from the cast of the London musical, Rat Pack.

Grant & Anthea's Summer Ball has generated more than £1.5 million of charitable donations since the event started. Said Grant Bovey, CEO of Imagine Homes, "The aim as always is to have an amazing fun packed evening whilst generating a significant amount of money for these two very worthy charities. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of all our guests." It costs £2.7 million each year for CHASE to support 300 out of the estimated 800 families in Surrey with life limited children or young people who are not expected to reach their 19th birthday DebRA relies on the support of generous benefactors to enable it to help children with the rare and incurable skin disorder, EB. The "glue" keeping the skin together present in normal births is missing causing severe blistering either spontaneously or at the slightest friction.

In the UK, specialist NHS treatment facilities for EB at national and regional level are almost non-existent and the 5,000 or so UK families affected by the condition rely almost entirely on DebRA support.
