Half a million pounds has been raised for two charities, including CHASE, by the annual summer ball staged by Anthea Turner and her husband, Grant Bovey.
The ball, which raised money for the Guildford based children’s hospice service and DebRA, was staged in the grounds of the couple’s Dunsfold home and more than 500 guests, including well known faces from stage and screen, enjoyed an array of entertainment and a lavish meal.
Master of ceremonies Bobby Davro kept guests amused throughout the evening while they were given the opportunity to bid for a range of exclusive prizes, ranging from a two-week holiday at Bryan Adam’s villa in Mustique to five top of the range BMW Mini Coopers.
The line-up of entertainment included performances from X-Factor finalists Ray Quinn and Chico; opera star Keedie and the cast of the London musical, Rat Pack, who kept guests dancing into the early hours. With the help and support of guests, sponsors and partners alike, Grant and Anthea’s summer ball has generated more than £1.5 million of charitable donations since the event began.
It was sponsored for the fifth successive year by property investment company, Imagine Homes, of which Grant Bovey is the chief executive officer.
He said the company was delighted to be sponsoring this “fantastic occasion”.
He added: “The aim as always is to have an amazing, fun-packed evening while generating a significant amount of money for these two very worthy charities.
“We are extremely grateful to the generosity of all our guests.”
