Grant Bovey’s buy-to-let company, Imagine Homes, is to open Europe’s first ‘’new homes supermarket’’.
Bovey, who is married to TV presenter Anthea Turner, this week said he had signed a lease for a 17,000 sq ft two-storey building on the Hogarth roundabout in Chiswick, west London.
The former TVR car showroom will undergo a £2.5m refurbishment to provide retail space, offices, meeting rooms, a theatre for investment seminars, a café/bar and a crèche
Customers will be able to shop for residential properties that are already let, with plasma screens offering a virtual tour of all the properties, rather than having to visit them in person.
The sight on the A4 is passed by more than 500,000 people a day and is expected to open in autumn 2006.
Bovey wanted to provide a ‘’hassle-free’’ way for investors to build their portfolios.
‘’As a company, we are pushing the boundaries and we now believe we have the ideal space to share the vision with an even broader audience,’’ he said.
