Estates Gazette – A total of 500 guests turn out to support DebRA and CHASE

Celeb ball raises £500k

The fifth Grant & Anthea Summer Ball, sponsored by property investment company Imagine Homes, has raised £500,000 for charity.

The annual event, hosted by Grant Bovey and Anthea Truner, raised funds for two charities – DebRA, which works on behalf of people with the genetic skin blistering condition epidermolysis bullosa, and CHASE hospice care for children.

The ball, which was staged in the grounds of Bovey and Turner’s home, saw more than 500 guests entertained by master of ceremonies Bobby Davro.

They were given the opportunity to bid for prizes ranging from a holiday at Bryan Adam’s Villa in Mustique to five BMW Mini Coopers.

The entertainment included performances from Ray Quinn and Chico from The X Factor, and opera star Keedie. The cast of the musical Rat Pack kept guests dancing into the early hours.

With the help and support of guests, sponsors and partners, the summer ball has generated more then £1.5m in charitable donations since the event started.

Grant Bovey, CEO of Imagine Homes, said: “The aim, as always, was to have an amazing evening while generating a significant amount of money for charity.”
